Seaside
I'm now in the land of Volvos and sallow frumpy people. The traffic (lack of commuter trains) is abhorrent. The closest view is a massive cement factory and a whole bunch of cargo containers in the lower harbor. You know, those box car/truck containers terrorists can smuggle bombs the size of Buicks in. Here's some pics of Kurt Cobain's last zip code ... Downtown on Alaskan Way, along the piers. No flying saucer, just the Space Needle. A parking garage along Alaskan Way with whale art. The Olympic Peninsula and mountains beyond the public fishing pier. Haven't been over there yet. Really want to go, except that driving in snow part. Bottom left is Seattle's World Trade Center, ground zero for a whole lot of commotion a few years back. (Sigh). Everything's such a let down after Syndey. -- Mz M.
